Review of today's lesson: new words, the new modal verb dürfen, können / müssen / dürfen, and small words like meistens, nie, dort and trotzdem.
Tap a German word, then the English meaning. "Neu mischen" gives you new words.
| ich | darf |
| du | darfst |
| er / sie / es / man | darf |
| wir | dürfen |
| ihr | dürft |
| sie / Sie | dürfen |
Same rule as kann and muss: ich darf, er darf. No -t at the end!
man = people in general, "you".
Man darf … = it is allowed.
Man darf nicht … = it is not allowed.
Darf ich …? = May I …? A polite question: Darf ich hier sitzen?
Like können and müssen: dürfen stands on position 2, the second verb goes to the end and does not change.
Choose the right form of dürfen.
Read the first sentence. Is it "can", "have to" or "is allowed to"?
meistens, nie, dort, schon, trotzdem … Tap the word that fits.
Tap the words in the right order. Verb on position 2 (in a yes/no question: position 1), second verb or small part at the end.
Answer in full sentences.
